Video Encoding for Blackberry Pearl
First of all, Go to http://www.erightsoft.com/home.html then freeware tab>super>download, then install and open the program.
Now you have to edit some of the settings.
1.Select the Output Container= avi
2.Select the output Video codec=H.263
3.Aspect=11:9,4:3 or 1:1
4.Frame/sec= 14.985
5.Bitrate kbps= 64-576
Now right click on the program and select specify the output folder destination and put wherever you want the files to be saved, change this because I am pretty sure the defaut folder is not set right.
Now drag and drop your file into super and hit Encode(active job list files).
Next go to your output folder select the file you want on your BB and copy it, now connect your BB and enter mass storage mode and paste the file into your BB video folder.
If you need any help or have problems PM, post here or Pin me and ill try to help
Also for reference the output file size is less than the original in some cases only half the size or less depending on the bit rate the smaller the bit rate the smaller the file size but the video seems to get more pix elated.
Also to add, the above settings work but I am sure with a little tweaking it can work even better. changing the frame rate is what made controls work for example going from 14.985 (working controls) to 25(controls don't work).

- To move the cursor, roll the trackball.
- To exit a screen or to move to a previous page in a browser, press the Escape key.
- To move upwards in a screen, press 3.
- To move downwards in a screen, press 9.
- To move to the top of a screen, press 1.
- To move to the bottom of a screen, press 7.
- To move to the next item, press 6.
- To move to the previous item, press 4.
- To move to a list item or menu item, type the first letter of the item.

- To assign a speed dial number to a key, from the Home screen or in the Phone application, hold the key you want to assign. Type the phone number.

- To view the last phone number that you dialed, scroll to the top of the Phone screen, then press the Enter key. Press the Send key to dial the number.

- To take a picture, press the Right Convenience key.

- To type an accented or special character, hold the letter key and roll the trackball left or right. Click a selected character.
- To type a symbol, press the Symbol key. To view more symbols, press the Symbol key again. Type the letter that appears below the symbol to enter the corresponding symbol.
- To insert a period, press the Space key twice. The next letter is capitalized.
- To capitalize a letter, hold the letter key until the capitalized letter appears.
- To turn on NUM lock, hold the Shift key and press the Alt key.
- To turn off NUM lock, press the Alt key.
- To insert an at sign ( @ ) or a period ( . ) in an email address field, press the Space key.
- To type a number in a number field, press a number key. You do not need to press the Alt key.
- To type a number in a password field, hold the Alt key and press the number key.
- To type a letter in a number field, hold the Alt key and use the multi-tap input method to enter the letter.

- To view a slide show presentation, press A.

How to use BlackBerry Pearl as a modem?
- Start your BlackBerry Desktop Manager and it should be running in the background. there is no need to click on any options. just open it. This is required to use BlackBerry pearl as an external modem.
- Conenct your BlackBerry using USB cable to your Computer.
- Click on start->Control Panel -> Phones and Modems->Press Enter
- Click on Modem tab-> select the standard modem -> click on Properties -> Advanced and add only ONE of the following Extra initialization command line That applies to your carrier. APN Settings: Cingular Blue/AT&T Users

5. Check only the Standard Modem (if prompted).
6. Give the connection a name such as "Pearl Modem", then Next.
7. On the next screen, pick one of the following phone numbers, depending on your carrier:
For GSM Phones such as Cingular , AT&T and T-Mobile use phone number *99#
For iDEN phones such as Nextel/Telus use phone number S=2
For CDMA phones such as Verizon, Sprint use phone number #777
8. Click Next.
9. On the next screen, pick one of the following, depending on your carrier:
Cingular Blue, AT&T or Nextel:
User name: Blank
Password: Blank
Rogers Canada:
User name: wapuser1
Password: wap
Cingular Orange:

10. Clear all check boxes ("Use...when anyone..." and "Make this the default...")
11. Click Finish - Make sure under TCP/IP Properties (Advanced) "Use IP Header Compression" checkbox is unchecked. To verify this, do these steps:Uncheck all the following check boxes, if you see any of these checked:1. Start Menu->Network Connections->"Pearl Modem"
2. Click Properties Button
3. Click Networking Tab
4. Select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
5. Click Properties Button
6. Click Advanced... Button
7. un-check "Use IP header compression" checkbox
8. Click OK until all windows are closed.
Turn off "Enable Hardware Flow Control"
Turn off "Enable Modem Error Control"
Turn off "Enable Modem Compression - Finally, click on the "Pearl Modem" icon via Start Menu->Network Connections. start using Internet from your Pearl.
