To do so, you should first make sure that you can:<br /><br />* Connect to the Internet over GPRS using the WAP browser in your telephone<br /><br />* Connect your Macintosh to your mobile phone over IrDA or Bluetooth.<br /><br />Once you can do these two things, you can set up your computer to use the telephone as a wireless modem to connect to the Internet.<br /><br />Important: GPRS data services and Internet access are typically optional offerings. Ask your mobile phone operator about GPRS availability in your area, and what the subscription fees and service charges are.<br /><br />Connecting to the Internet over GPRS using the WAP browser in your telephone Most recent mobile phones allow wireless Internet access right on the phone.<br /><br />This service uses the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and a "microbrowser" in the telephone to allow you to browse the Internet.<br /><br />Before you try to connect your Mac to the Internet using your telephone as a wireless modem, you should first make sure that you can connect to the Internet using the WAP microbrowser over GPRS.<br /><br />Not all telephones that use WAP have a GPRS data feature, and not all mobile telephone operators offer a GPRS service--even if your telephone is capable of using it.<br /><br />1. Make sure your mobile phone is capable of using your operator's GPRS data service. Some phones may only be able to use WAP over circuit-switched data (CSD) connections. In this case you won't be able to use your phone as a wireless modem.<br /><br />2. Subscribe to the GPRS data service.<br /><br />3. Configure your telephone with the necessary network settings to use your operator's GPRS data service. The GPRS settings used by your mobile phone operator may already be saved on the phone's SIM card. If this is the case, you need only select this setting or profile. Pearl). If you have an 8100, you can now use it as a Bluetooth modem with your Mac. Here’s how you use it:</p> <ol><li>Download the script <a href="http://www.fibble.org/BlackBerry%208100">here</a>. <strong>Please Right-Click and Choose ‘Save As’.</strong></li><li>Copy the script into /Library/Modem Scripts. </li><li>If you’ve already paired your Pearl with your Mac, open Bluetooth Preferences, Select your Pearl from the list of devices and press ‘Configure…’. (If you haven’t, choose ‘Set up Bluetooth Device’ - the following dialogs will be shown after you’ve paired your phone with your Mac. Make sure your Pearl doesn’t require a password for your mac to connect to it - the ‘Trusted Connection’ option for the pairing should be set to ‘Yes’ on your phone, not ‘Ask’.) </li><li>Make sure ‘Access the Internet with your phone’s data connection’ is checked. Also, make sure ‘Use a direct, higher speed connection’ is selected. Click Continue.</li><li>In the Modem Script pulldown on the following screen, Select ‘BlackBerry 8100’. Use the following settings for the other fields, then click Continue: <ul><li>Username, Password: leave blank</li><li><span class="caps">GPRS CID</span>: *99***1#</li></ul> </li><li>Open the Internet Connect application. Select the Bluetooth icon at the top. Under Phone Number, put your <span class="caps">APN </span>(for T-Mobile and the BlackBerry Unlimited plan, I use wap.voicestream.com, for Cingular it’s “wap.cingular”). Type a username and password (I use guest/guest, for Cingular you’ll use “WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM” as the username and “CINGULAR1” as the password) in the appropriate fields. </li></ol> <p>That’s it! Let me know if it works for you. I don’t believe my settings are getting the most out of the device’s <span class="caps">EDGE </span>support, so I’ll be tweaking as I learn more. Connect BB to computer<br />1) Perform a selective backup with Desktop Manager, saving only Content Space from your real Blackberry, then disconnect<br />2) Download/Install the Blackberry JDE<br />3) Start the MDS Simulator<br />4) Start the BB Simulator (probably best to choose your specific model)<br />5) Simulate a USB connection<br />6) Restore the back up from 1) to the simulated BB<br />7) Surf to the web site that has your ringtone in the BB Browser on the simulation then save it<br />8) Perform a selective backup with Desktop Manager, saving only Content Space from the simulated BB<br />9) Disconnect/Close the simulated BB<br />10) Connect your real BB<br />11) Use Desktop Manager to perform a selected restore of the saved Content Space from 8)<br />12) Go to Profiles>Show Tone and you have to edit some of the settings.<br /><br />1.Select the Output Container= avi<br />2.Select the output Video codec=H.263<br />3.Aspect=11:9,4:3 or 1:1<br />4.Frame/sec= 14.985<br />5.Bitrate kbps= 64-576<br /><br />Now right click on the program and select specify the output folder destination and put wherever you want the files to be saved, change this because I am pretty sure the defaut folder is not set right.<br /><br />Now drag and drop your file into super and hit Encode(active job list files).<br /><br />Next go to your output folder select the file you want on your BB and copy it, now connect your BB and enter mass storage mode and paste the file into your BB video folder.<br /><br />If you need any help or have problems PM, post here or Pin me and ill try to help<br /><br />Also for reference the output file size is less than the original in some cases only half the size or less depending on the bit rate the smaller the bit rate the smaller the file size but the video seems to get more pix elated.<br /><br />Also to add, the above settings work but I am sure with a little tweaking it can work even better. changing the frame rate is what made controls work for
